What is Rebelle Road
Inspired by the legendary maverick outlaw Belle Starr, Rebelle Road is a new company founded by Americana artists Adrienne Isom (Nocona) and KP Hawthorn (Calico the Band), together with producer Karen Rappaport McHugh (Muddy Girl Productions). The trio plans to fiercely champion and showcase Americana music from their female vantage point.
What We Believe
Showcasing “California Country” artists while supporting the growing network of Americana performers from around the country.
Creating parity and equity for female artists among the performers in every aspect of our programming, including honoring “rebelle” women who’ve paved the way.
Expressing Western culture, heritage and shared experiences of performers along the highways and byways of America through music, storytelling, and other mediums.
Honoring the rich tradition of roots music that was created by Hollywood’s singing cowboys, deepened by the Bakersfield and Laurel Canyon sound, and expanded by today’s artists who are blazing new trails on the West Coast and beyond.
What We're Creating
Rebelle Road Presents will be one-of-a-kind experiences dedicated to creating opportunities for West Coast country artists, as well as welcoming outliers, outlaws and musical misfits from around the country.
The Rebelle Roadshow, a monthly Songs & Stories showcase, will merge music, storytelling and artist interviews in a stylized, intimate ‘living room’ format featuring emerging and popular talent while honoring the scions of our past.
Stories From The Highway, a podcast, will bring the vision of The Rebelle Roadshow to a broader audience. Peek inside an artist’s studio, take a ride on the tour bus, hear the daily life of an artist or get a rare, insider glimpse of musical history from legacy artists.
In addition to the projects above, Rebelle Road is also developing several TV and film properties.
